David Pruden

David is an Associate at Blackpeak's Hong Kong office, where he conducts due diligence and risk research for financial services and banking clients. He is also part of Blackpeak’s editorial team, helping to ensure the quality and consistency of the firm’s reports to clients.

David has research experience in both academia and the private sector in the United States. His areas of expertise include political risk and Russian–Chinese political and economic relations. Prior to Blackpeak, David worked as a teacher in the United States, Kuwait and Thailand. He also interned at a political risk firm in New York, where he provided research support for regular publications and assisted on business consulting projects.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in Russian and International Studies – Europe from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Regional Studies – Russia, Eurasia and Eastern Europe from Columbia University. He is fluent in English and Russian and has professional proficiency in French.
